First timer tips

1

AGUA. Hydrate, hydrate, HYDRATE! Drinking water before a hot yoga class is crucial. As, our favourite teacher always says, “The best time to drink water, was YESTERDAY”

2

FOOD RULES. Try to give your tummy a rest and not eat for at least 2 hours prior to class. Practicing on a full stomach in the hot room isn’t very comfortable and can make you queasy.

3

WHAT TO BRING. A big water bottle. It’s never fun running out of water during class. We have a filtered water station for you to fill up.

4

BE AN EARLY BIRD. Try to come to class 15 minutes before to sign in, get acclimated with the studio, and chat to our friendly VIDA staff for a pre-class briefing.

5

IN THE HOT ROOM. It’s your first time, don’t push yourself too hard. The heat takes some getting used to (but once you do, you won’t be able to get enough of it!) We always say give us 3 sessions and you’ll be a hot yoga convert. But the first few are always an adjustment. Pace yourself and get used to the sequence. We do recommend that you stay in the room for the duration of the practice. Chat with your instructor prior to class if you have any questions or concerns.

6

AFTER CLASS. Bravo! You rockstar! Now DRINK UP- WATER that is! Or coconut water or anything that has electrolytes in it. Time to rehydrate so you can do it all over again tomorrow! Be proud of yourself and remember, it may not always be easy but it’s always worth it.
